You'll want to arrive in the modern city of Miami early, even if it's just to hit the beach. After you depart, you'll have two days to explore the vibrant and stunning port of Havana where you'll experience our Cruise Global, Connect Local® shore excursions. Follow in Hemmingway's footsteps, savor a sample of Cuba's finest rum, or venture back in time with a spin in a vintage American automobile. After spending the night in Havana, you'll have two full days at sea to relax before the ship navigates the Panama Canal. It takes a full day to float through this engineering marvel that connects the Atlantic to the Pacific. Next, visit the Frank Gehry-designed Biomuseo of Panama, an engineering marvel in its own right (it took longer than the canal to build) with a fully immersive surround cinema (including a giant screen underfoot) that puts the viewer in the middle of a rainforest. Inside and out, this museum is fascinating. Then sail along the stunning Pacific coast of Costa Rica - first to the rugged mountain ranges, dense rainforest and pristine beaches of the Golfo Dulce. As the ship stays overnight, there's time to explore the remote Osa Wildlife Sanctuary where injured spider monkeys, scarlet macaws, sloths and other creatures you've never seen are rehabilitated. Wandering this close to wild animals is simply breathtaking. A guided tour through the extraordinary Manuel Antonio National Park in Quepos and the lush rainforest filled with wild scarlet macaws in Caldera end this incredible eco-adventure.
